  1. Not all Hoover uprights are the same. The Hoover "Windtunnel" with bag and Hepa filter is excellent. I feel that this vacuum traps "most" of the dust and powder anyone can have in their homes.

    Good Luck

  2. I truly love my Dyson but it is $400. The best thing I can tell you is to rip out the carpet. No matter how much you vacuum, there is literally years of dirt and dust trapped in and under the padding that will not come out until the carpet is removed. That is what I finally had to do. I put down wood floors in every room but the bedroom and put down new carpet in there. That way, I can start from fresh and since it is not a high traffic area, I don’t worry about the trapped dirt. Wood floors can be vacuumed every day with the Dyson (which has a bare floor mode) and damp mopped to get the dust. You will feel the difference.
