How can I get rid of dog smell in my vacuum cleaner?

Rainbow need help to clarify doubt about: : How can I get rid of dog smell in my vacuum cleaner?
I bought an upright vacuum from some friends of ours who have a dog. Now, the vacuum smells like a wet dog every time I use it. I tried pouring baking soda on the carpet and letting the vacuum do its job. This hasn’t been successful. Any suggestions?
