  1. So funny! What a great husband you are…..really. I begged my husband for a $350? Dyson upright for Christmas one year. I totally understand your gift! I got the Dyson (yellow DC14) upright. No belt, no bag, very easy to empty. I’m not sure about canisters. I think no bag, no belt means you have to have a canister. My dyson has a clear plastic thing I would call a canister that fills up, then you just snap it out, hold it over a trash can, push a little button on top and it dumps everything out, then you just close the lid on the bottom. I absolutely love it! My only complaint is that with no belt, you have to frequently clean the brush/roller or it will get twisted up with hair and you can’t take it apart to clean it. Other than that, it’s a great vacuum. It has a carpet and bare floor setting and a very long already attached hose with three attachments that’s very convenient. I highly recommend this vacuum. Good luck!

  2. One word… DYSON! They are the best vacumes ever made! I have 4, very hairy dogs, and it picks it all up in a pinch. Lots of suction and no bags. They are however, expensive – $400+

  3. I agree. Dyson is the only way to go. I’ve owned others, including Hoover and Kirby, but they all use bags. I think Hoover now has some without bags, but the Dyson technology just cannot be beat. I believe they are very comparable in price to other higher-end vacuums, and you could spend more. Overall, it is just the best vacuum I have ever owned and works on bare floors, low-pile and shaggy-type rugs.
