Over-revving a universal motor may result in fun!, and dangerous commutator fragments! Don’t try this at home unless properly prepared for the consequences! a full face visor and leather welders apron are preferred protection from flying commutator carnage!
LOL, cheap commutator!
That was a good one!!
Wow that was cool. Thanks for another great vid.
Zing………Zzziiiing…………..ZZZzzzzzziiiiiiiiiing……………..ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnng *POP*
LMAO. 😀
-BoomBoxDeluxe.
Good one!
Something tells me you weren’t quite ready for that!
LOL, MOTs are fun :D, Should use more than 1 then ballast them, to equal the full voltage output of 1
@pikuorguk lol thought so…
That made me go “Whooooah!” 😀
@Geoffr524 yeh saw that, Tesla500 is a good man!. he did a slow-mo shot of a rotary compressor to confirm that the vane bounces when there is no/low back pressure
@TheElectricnoob yeh, commutator explosion really tore that motor apart. that was the Duncan Electric promo.
No “G’day folks!” ? 🙂
Nice!
@PhattyMo it was supposed to be a longer vid, but this was the real good bit so I ditched the start of it.
sounds like a firetruck
A motor vs a MOT and the MOT won!
I think you need a blast cabnet…
@Aussie50 have you ever thought of pouring a little bit of gasoline or something in a motor, to see if it bursts into flames?
Sir, you’ve officially become the Aussie Photonic with this vid. LOL!
@ripetomatoes
We did that once long ago with my cousin, putting a lil oil right onto the commutator. Instant flames but only for like a second.
