Carpet and hard floor vacuum?

One of my love dogs chewed through the wire to my Rainbow vacuum. Im very upset but at the same time releived because i’ve been looking for a reason to go get a less bulkier vacuum.
What if the best and price friendly vacuum that can give me the same results or close to what my rainbow gave to me?
I have a pet and my apartment is carpet and hardfloor.

  1. I have the dyson Animal and it’s amazing. I have two dogs and my house is also partially carpeted and hardwood. It has a switch to stop the bristle brush from spinning when you move from the carpet to your hardwood. I also spent an extra thirty dollars and bought the extra attachment for pet hair. DO NOT get that it does not work well. The attachment that came with the vacuum works ten times better. It’s a little more expensive but I’ve had it for four years, and before I had my Dyson I was buying a new vacuum for about a hundred bucks each so I think the extra money was way worth it. Plus if you buy the extended warranty it will cover it being cleaned every six months. (at least my one from Sears does)

  2. (copied from another post where I recommended a vacuum)

I bought a GREAT vacuum at Wal-Mart. When I say great, this is coming from someone who also owns two of the latest model, high end vacuum cleaners (A Kirby Sentria and a Rainbow Cleaning System-the brand new Blue/Silver and Dark Grey one) that are sold door to door and cost $2000. While I like those machines very well, they are hard to use and I just want something quick but good when I have to vacuum. I let my cleaning service wrestle with my two high priced vacs!

The machine I am talking about is the Eureka Boss. It uses bags and the biggest feature I like is that you can turn the brushroll off to vacuum your tile, linoleum, hard wood floors, ect. It has WONDERFUL suction no matter which way you use it. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and it gets used everyday. I could not be more pleased. It’s everything I NEED in a vacuum and the price was very reasonable. I based my decision to buy it on the near perfect reviews on Wal-Mart.com and on Epinions. Below is the link to the vacuum at Wal-Mart and the review on Epinions.

    Happy Vacuuming!
