Hoover Celebrity QS Electronique S3237

Hoover Celebrity QS model S3237 from about 1986. In its day this was the TOL UBER-DELUXE model featuring 2 speed canister and powernozzle, full bag light, cord reel, and carpet/floor switch. The QS in the name stood for “Quiet Series” and it was anything but quiet! One odd quirk with this electronic machine is the power nozzle will not run if the light bulb burns out! I won this from Ebay in 2006. It’s seen very little use in its 22 years. At the 2007 VCCC convention my friend Bobby won two blue ribbons with this vacuum. The colors are silver sand over midnight grey with chrome trim. This was one of Hoover’s flashiest looking canisters ever!

  1. Thanks for the nice words, This is actually the 3rd one of these I have had over the years, one of which was brand new!
I’ll be hanging on to this one for sure!

  2. What a looker! I hope I find a chrome trim Celebrity here some day. I like that you can turn off the brush for bare floors.

  3. Nice! I used to have one I think it was a Celebrity III if I can remember (it’s been awhile) I had to get rid of it though due to Black Mold.

  4. Wow Jeff, that’s a stunner! gotta love those bells and whistles! It sounds symphonic compared to modern machines!

What does the ‘Power Guard’ LED do? I’m guessing it shows when the machine is off but the brushroll is set to carpets?

  5. We had this one too, in mint green. Different powerhead. Didn’t have the 4 lights on the right.

This was awesome – pre Dimension 1000 I believe.

  6. That’s a real nice vacuum! We have a Celebrity III. It works great, even though it’s seen better days – The hose is duct-taped to the vacuum itself, the power switch is broken and stuck in the ON position, and the end of the power cord was cut off so another cord could be connected to make it longer! It still works great, though – we use it all the time.

  7. This one was the top of the line model, and its seen very little use. I was lucky to find it!
    Thanks for your nice words!

  8. I think they’ve discontinued the motor filters for these, is there any filter you can use as a substitute?
