This is my second implementation of a “steam” engine in Lego that is powered by my trusty vacuum cleaner. The engine’s top speed is just over 900 RPM. More information, and building instructions can be found here: anthony.liekens.net

transform that to 1 cylinder engine,it goes faaaaaaaastthhhhh..
can u post a howto vid?
He already did !!
lol the same day i foud out how 🙂
how much power does it have? during to the Speed Computer. (M/PH, KM/PH)
Im going to try it out
i built one finally!!!
if you build a “channel” on the top where the intake is, you can spray wd-40 into it and then really watch it fly.
although i had some motor oil lying around, and that worked even better.
just my 0.02$
i made a one cylinder and it runs so fast that it gets destroyed after 30 sec, LOL
genious!
Can you help me i tryed something like this but it stops after 1 complete turn.
brilliant!
just make a holder, add some more wheel and some mindstorms and you got ur own selfcleaning vacuum
This is, by far, my favorite lego “thingomajigger” 😛
5/5 every time I watch the video
caspall has instructions. make his first then try making your own
dude that could be like the new car engine! but it’s so farfetched because you would need a gigantic vaccuum if you wanted a regular sized car to drive
5/5 stars nice
Na, you can just use some Pneumatics, and it might be possible. I don’t know. lol, just a thought.
Yeah I made one too, check out my vid, I was thinking maybe we could use something like a big syringe (clutch) in another hybrids to supply the vacuum power for perhaps a while then reload it by repressing the clutch again.
awome
I oiled mine and it turns faster and does not squeak.
woot nice can u let us see what u did put in the hole? i want also make that 😀
See, the only problem with osilating cylenders is that it wont run Extremely fast…
hey if you had 4 of those moving things you could make a vacum powerd car
can this engine operate as a compressor if a electric motor installed?
Yes, it works as a compressor/vacuum too. By rotating the wheels, you can feel puffs of air coming from the inlet. Similarly, putting pressure on the inlet instead of a vacuum engine makes the engine running in the other direction.
Cool man
