Ever wonder how you should properly maintain your Miele Canister vacuum? In this video, we show you how to go through the proper steps to maintain Miele Canisters (same for all canisters) including: changing the vacuum bag and replacing the pre-motor and HEPA filters. Proper maintenance is vital on these machines. Like a car, the Miele canister vacuum cleaner’s performance is dependent upon the maintenance of the machine. But because of the high quality of the design and engineering of these machines, if you take care of them properly, the machine can last you up to 30 years. Brought to you by the govacuum Team. nice video
Thank you for posting this. Great information. Better than reading the instruction manual.
Thanks very much. I was looking online to replace my 6-yr old S314i which today began to fade when I ran across your info. After following your advice, I was somehow putting the filters in the wrong place, her health was restored and she leaped back into action. Still, there’s a lot of air (dust) blowing out of various places and I’m thinking new HEPA filter model. It won’t be a Kenmore that’s for sure. But anyway, Go, GoVacuums!
Thanks for the informative video. I’m considering buying a miele vacuum. It’s nice to see someone post something useful. It does’t hurt to that he’s cute!
I heard that! I wish all salesmen looked like him (lol). Slightly better lighting and an independent microphone, and a tripod would make it even better. And a couple of good closeups of the presenter!
Miele genuine bags are really expensive!
I don’t have a Miele I have a Numatic Henry
you can buy a HEPA for any S300
the SEB 217/236 need service too!
Thanks for pointing that out, you are exactly right, the electrical power nozzles are very important to be serviced, probably more important then canister even. The power nozzle is the only part of the vacuum cleaner that has dirt running through moving parts, and therefore should be serviced on a more regular basis. I will see if we can do a video repsonse showing how to service the brush, thanks again for pointing this out! Do you have a Miele currently?
The Miele Genuine bags are expensive, but they are much, much better for the vacuum cleaner then the generic bags. The generic Miele bags tend to leak more dust, and allow that dust to go through the bag, and the filter, and end up going through the motor. The life expectancy of your Miele will be dramatically reduced if you use generic bags. The new Miele HyClean bags are more efficient then the older style, and will fill completely before clogging.
original bag are very expensive but you can buy diffrent suitable for this vacuum. I have Clatronic vacuum cleaner
The original bags are really much better for your vacuum cleaner. Miele designs these bags specifically for their vacuum cleaners, and their bags leak almost no dust. The generic bags can leak a lot more dust into the motor, and cause the motor to not last as long as it would have with genuine Miele bags, hence the fact that Miele will void your motor warranty if they find that you were using a generic bag.
Good grief! If you can afford a Miele vacuum, why on earth would you complain about $18.95 for some bags? Nothing but original replacements for me. Trust the Miele engineers, it’s a sealed “system” and all parts of that system need to be in place for it to work properly!! I’d buy just about anything from Chris, what a cutie!
thank you for this video 🙂
am a dealer lol
I do very little maintenance on my Miele vac and beat it to death. Only use a couple of boxes of bags a year- if even that- and am very neglectful with changing the filters. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped it down a flight of stairs and rolled it over on my driveway vaccuuming the car. It just keeps on tickin’.
How much do all these filters and bags cost?
