Ok so I feel kinda hypocritical by having this machine. I vowed never to own another Sanitaire after I got rid of my Widetrack model with F&G bag that my grandparents bought me. I always wanted one because I saw them used commercially everywhere and liked the sound. But as I got older I realized that it did not really do that good of a job at deep cleaning as I thought. So after seeing many videos one here I went to the vac shop and said I want the best model with the new style bag. When I got it I asked for another set of brushes to replace the beaters for pet hair. I tried with the beater brush combo and it did not do well with the pet hair at all. When I added the extra brushes pet hair pick up pick up increased alot. Even without the beaters it still beats the carpet like it has them but I still find sand at the bottom of the pile that only my Simplicty Freedom can get on a side note this machine can be thrown off the Grand Canyon and survive whereas the Simplicty could not survive falling down a flight of stairs. I guess I have a diverse collection of vacuums. But oh well enjoy.
Yes tried that but its not really that different from the VG1 with the beater in place. This setup should be sold with the machines as its the only way I was able to remove pet hair easily.
why sell it
the bag doesnt poof out as much
Yea I noticed that too, but the outer bag is more rigid material than the older style bags so that has something to do with it.
i notice that it doesnt make very of a vibrating noise
It does, it makes almost as much nosie with all brush as it does with 2 brush 2 beater setup.
when did you purchase your sanitaire
did you used to have a widetrack sanitaire
does it take f&g bags
No this take ST style bags which mount like a traditional upright on to a fill tube, it not that piss poor style F&G setup.
was the widetrack model a commercial vacuum
can you still use a vibra-groomer brushroll
Yup.
so can you use the stanard outer bags
the platinum steamvac has a headlight that looks like a spotlight
I have to admit, my Sanitaire with a VGII (well, uprated to a VG2.5 using VGIII brushstrips) works far better than anything I have used, the bag, modified with a Kirby filltube to use HEPA rated bags, fills up so quickly it’s astonishing!!! 😀
Oh, and I have a metal fan in mine now, cos I like metal fans… 🙂
are you going to get the platinum steamvac
one of these days.
i love the sound of a sanitaire motor, music to my ears
What type of bag is this machine using? It looks like a really nice thick cloth type. Thanks:)
So you dont have this s677 anymore? Are you saying it doesnt deep clean very well? What out there is a lot better than a saitaire at deep cleaning? This vacuum is rated for 145 cfm.Thats pretty good:)
@panaclean775 it uses style st bags and yes it is a cloth bag.
Probably because he has a vg1 if I ever got a sanitaire I would ask for a vg2 or vg4.
