This is a late 60’s or early 70’s two speed Kenmore canister vacuum I found at a local thrift store. It’s in surprisingly excellent condition for its age. The hose has no rips or tears which is a problem that plagued the next generation of 70’s & 80’s Kenmores. The power cord is noticably thicker and more durable than all later models as well.
thats probably from 1974. my grandpa had one but i threw it out…. 30 years of constant home remodeling kinda ruined it..
I have that same power nozzle rigged to an early 80’s (wood styled) Kenmore box. Not sure how we ended up with it, I never found the matching canister. I use it in the basement. It has picked up coal ash, hay, mud, snow, cat litter. It takes outright abuse and won’t die.
very cool kenmore vac…
wish i could find a thrift store to find a vac like that. no thrift stores around here. just bought POS magic blue from sears.
I spend a lot of time going thru thrift stores almost everyday but it’s rare that they have anything good, just that I”m always there for the times they do.
I think I have the lower end model to this, because it is the same colors, but a bit smaller and no power nozzle.
Nice vid were these pretty powerful?
@pkguy3 Exactly, the secret to getting a good find is a lot of looking. You have to go regularly. I’ve managed to get some good stuff this way.
