Great for hard floors,
I do love this vacuum, especially for the price.
But I have a couple of tiny complaints:
1) the nozzle that’s supposed to work on upholstery/carpet is too difficult to maneuver on carpeting for the power of the instrument. I also end up sucking up the throw rugs I am trying to vacuum!
2) the vacuum is very bulky (to be expected) but is not easy to pack up and store. The hose is supposed to wrap around the vacuum, I think, but it doesn’t really stay in place. Also, the cord has nowhere to be stored. So I have to just lump it all together in one of my larger closets.
All in all, though, good item.

|Great generic replacement for built-in vacuum on a SeaRay boat,
Plug and play replacement – works much better than the cheaper than crap OEM hose installed on our SeaRay boat. The OEM equipment had no beater brush, only straight vacuum. This hose plugs right in place of the OEM hose, with a separate power cord for the beater brush that plugs into a nearby AC outlet. You do have to turn the hose in the socket just right to get the contacts to close and start the vacuum, but it’s easily accomplished. This unit was obviously designed for a residential installation, and it deserves 5 stars for that. For use on a boat, be aware that the hose is much longer than needed for a 50′ boat, and the beater brush head is too large to get into all the little nooks and crannies you typically have on a boat. That’s not the fault of the equipment, so no stars off for that. I just need a bigger boat! :)
The pipe that goes from the head to the hose is in two segments, with a button to adjust it from about 2 feet to about 4 feet long, nicer than having to put a separate segment on and off. I’ve never used a central vacuum system other than this one on the boat, so I don’t know if that’s standard or not. This unit is quite well designed and I’m sure it would work beautifully in a residential setting.
