How can I clean my house the best way on hard floor with a dog?

I have dog (short hair) everyday, dust and dirt everyday and breathing the dusty air causing me a sever allergic reaction. not to mention I am allergic to pollen and grass and all that agricultural stuff here in florida. I have been using iRobot, HEPA vacuum machine, Mystic mop (both dry and wet), I am getting tired of having have to dust and mop AT LEAST twice a day everyday…. I can not leave my dogs out side of course since he is my family member. (only dog people can understand this~).

So, i could NEVEr sit down and relax… any idea what i can do to improve my quality of life ?
Steve D, Very helpful thank you. I have MERV 13 air filter for the central air system plus I just recently bought one year worth of regular air filter for one main air vent intake. I do not have ANY carpet in my house as my internet research told me not to have any for an allergy suffers. I am afraid to use a vacuum machine as it will circulate all the dust from the floor up in in the air once more, besides it is not recommended for allergy suffer to vacuum ( I do not have a choice), so I decided on sweeping / mopping which is not really working well for me as it takes so much time and work out of me doing at least twice everyday.. 🙁 Thats only floor. I still have to wipe down walls and windows, ceiling fans, then do a laundry bed sheets and pillow case, etc, etc… a full time job for a single person. (I also have to do a yard work and pressure washing, car washing, cooking, hmmm list goes on.).

I just do not have much energy cause I suffer from allergy non-stop and I can not jus

  1. Fabric will hold onto dust as well as duct work and heating and Central air systems.
Clean all the fabrics vacuum and/or shampoo the carpet/rugs/and appropriate upholstery.
Get one of those dust magnet type of wands with an extension handle and us it in your duct work where you can. Also look into getting a better air filter for you central air or heat. Buy after market small units that trap dust. I like the ones that you can clean the filter as they cost less in the long run but most say the kind that have a replaceable hepa filter work better.
Dust is going to happen. Like 75% of it is made up of dried skin. So we are the biggest polluters in that respect. If your really bugged by it have everybody in the home including the dog take frequent baths/shower and use a moisturizer. (kidding aside).

  2. I do agree a better sealed vacuum would help, just because something has a hepa filter does not mean it’s filtering to a HEPA level unless it’s well sealed you’re not getting that Hepa level performance, a miele or sebo would be great options
