Hoover Convertible belt issue

Here are some pictures and two videos of a recent problem I have had with this vacuum, I noticed it was leaving a black mark while I was using it one day and after checking it out, I found the belt is acting funny. I am new to collecting so I really have no clue as to how to fix the big issues lol. Im also new to editing so its not the best but its better than breaking it all up into several videos I guess. Anyways any help or advice is always very much welcome and appreciated 🙂

  1. well, that looks like it’s a Eureka belt, not a Hoover belt… the eureka belts are a bit longer. Also, on the last part of the vid, I think you have the belt on backwards. Take a look at my vid “solving the vibration problem with the decade 800” – you can see how the belts go.

  2. that belt is REALLY stretched. the major problem though is you’re installing the belt backwards. look at the picture to the left of the fan. the lower end of the belt needs to fall in between the ribs on that metal plate. make sure the belt sits good in the grooves on the brushroll and motor shaft pulleys.

  3. @fgbags thanks haha looks like i am gonna have to find some belts since both this one and the other convertible both have bad belts

  4. @cjh1618 yeah, they go bad even if you don’t use the machine. i disconnect the belts from the machines i don’t use on a regular basis, and always on my hoover junior because belts are getting hard to find for it. i got the last one from my favorite vac shop, and i found a 2-pack of belts while going through the bins at my favorite thrift store.

  5. Hi. No video is too long for a vac lover, and your videos are beautifully clear. Awesome job. Windows Movie Maker is quite a cool program and is fun to mess around with. Keep playing and keep posting

  6. I’ve had issues with the plate closing over the brush roll to tightly, and the belt riding up the motor shaft but I’ve never seen that happen!
