This vacuum is for hard surfaces ONLY! That said, that is exactly what I purchased it for. The recipient was thrilled and has been vacuuming everything in sight for days. I have used vacs from every manufacturer except Dyson, only because they are so stinkin’ pricey. Kenmore has the best suction and the most function of any other I have used. And give me a bagged vac any day. You won’t have the fallout dust cloud at the trash can. Just slip it into a plastic grocery bag and dispose of it. My friend loves it.
