we had one of these! my grandpa threw it out because the hose broke about two years ago! i couldn’t believe it! it still had plenty of power and life left. i used it to vacuum out my car. the beater bar part was thrown out a long time ago. ours was light blue and was from ’75.
OMG! I had one of these as a kid! except mine was brown!
Be nice to that power nozzle. There is NOTHING left for those, except for the belts.
I usually convert them to a newer Powermate, if the customer is willing to pay.
Nice Kenmore. I had a 1980 model with the longer hose. I don’t know why but I always used to think the kenmore canisters were so cool.

I found one of these except mine is blue. Got it yesterday along with a green Hoover Convertible U4127 for $10.98 for both at the St vincent de paul thrift shop.

Got one of these in the basement. Made a 12 ft. electric hose from a central vac hose. I have a Kenmore nozzle on it, but it’s not the matching unit. I replaced the canister motor about 6 months ago.
my mom had one of those that she got when she was married in 1984. The vacuum outlasted the marriage! it was still running but we got her another kenmore last year.

A friend picked up a newer kenmore powermate at a yard sale today and gave it to me. I had been looking at the new ones at kmart. he paid 10.00 for it
I changed the filter and bag and cleaned it up. It vacuums with ease, especially under the furniture! What a deal. love the magi-cord feature. Mine dosen’t have a light. wish it did. Great Deal and Great Machine.
Same story here! lol, moms mother in law gave her one of these in 87. Divorced in 1997. Still had it in 07 when our house burnt down. It worked great, and would probably still work if it hadn’t burned up.

the ones on your kenmores on the top of the shelf, on the right side of the doorway. arent the wheels supposed to be turned around to the other side?
the wheels should be spokes out… I’ll have to have a look…
okay, because mine has spokes in and the flat sides are out
