Which vacuum to choose?

What is the best vacuum when you have kids with asthma and allergies? The vacuum I have is old and I am looking to buy a new one, but there are so many on the market to choose from. I need something that is good for carpet and bare floors, has attachments for vacuuming the sofa and hard to reach areas. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a silly vacuum, but I want something that has good pick up. Also, which is better, bag or bagless? I’ve read conflicting opinions for both.

  1. I prefer Bagless, make sure whatever you get has a hepa filter since you have allergies and asthma in your home. I really like anything by Bissell they all work great and have lots of attachments. The one I have now I got on sale for $90

  2. Wow and I guess if we suggest something and it doesn’t work you’re gonna be mad with us.

I’m just clowing with ya. Yep, they all make themselves sound good on the TV and when you start using them (vacuums or any other products) it seems to be a different story.

I’ve always been in favor of the water based vacuums (Rainbow, but the price!) now smaller home versions available should do the job. I’ve used the Oreck for clearning up at our church, I did not see this big difference.
