Will you ever go back to your old mop and broom….?

after getting the Swiffer sweeper Vac or Swiffer Wet Jet?!

Asking here because moms are the best 🙂

I really like the Wet Jet. It’s super fast and SO easy to use. I’m wondering, though, if you have found one type of fluid works better than another? We have what came with it, but I’m wondering if the wood floor fluid is better because I did notice some streakiness with the regular stuff.

So I have also found with this floor that I am sweeping everyday, and that sucks. I was going to buy me a cute little vacuum that would work for hard floor and carpet but decided to go with the Sweeper Vac.

I have not used it yet so I’m wondering what you guys think about it?
Well, I kind of hated the regular swiffer myself, but the sweeper vac, I’m hoping, will do a much better job at grabbing the cat hairs and the bigger pieces of gunk that may be floating around. It’s still in the box though.

I don’t have hard wood floors, but they are like really thin faux wood slats of some kind.

And Jaiden doesn’t usually eat off the floor, she just crawls on it lol, so I’m not to worried about that stuff. Whatever she picks up from that floor couldn’t possibly be worse than a carpet.

  1. I hated my Swiffer, it never worked very well for me.
I bought this flat mop thing, it’s almost like a Swiffer, you wet the pad and the pad is removable and machine washable. It’s bigger than the Swiffer and it swivels to get it hard to reach places. The Swiffer just didn’t stay wet long enough, and I need warm/hot water to clean the floor. I put hot water on the pad, and use it until it gets dirty, then wash it off and do it again. Works like a charm.

    Good Luck!!

  2. I stop using the swiffer because it said on the bottle of cleanser that a pet or small children can get hurt or die from ingesting that stuff. I just have a industrial broom. Our floors are a pain in the butt, 3000 sq foot of hardwood floors. I hate it. I wish we had tiles but I was the stupid one that wanted wood floors. We used this spray we got from home depot and we spray and get on our hands and knees to wipe. I seriously need a new plan cause it’s hard doing it this way.

ETA Oh I saw this steam cleaner for all types of floors on an informercial. I always wondered if it works. 3 easy payments of $33. My husband won’t try it though. I don’t know about the swiffer vac only used the wet jet.

  3. I hate swiffers, they are great for houses that are already clean and don’t have animals or kids that eat on the floor. The cloths wont pick up the hair from my dog it just gets pushed into the corners or stuck to the bottom of the baseboards, and it just pushes food crumbs around. I got a little stick vac and I love it and I use a micro fibre mop to wash the floors, it’s easy and you don’t have to use any cleaning products.

  4. i used the swiffer in Iraq to clean my little 10 foot room. but don’t use it in my house now do to the cost of the fluid. i admit it is very easy to use but really doesn’t do as good of a job as i would like for an area i cook it. cause i am a messy cook.

  5. I only have The Wet Jet and I LOVE it! I do my kitchen floor everyday, lol. I don’t have wood floors anywhere in my house though, sorry. Try getting one that has orange in it. Orange oil is good for hardwood floors.

And no, my mom and broom are sitting on the back porch, lol.

  6. You know what i do instead of using one of those… i use a carpet cleaner on the floors..cleans and scrubs and doesn’t leave any "nasty" water on the floor at all!

  7. i know that the wet jet can be less time consuming but the cleaning solution that you use leaves a residue that can remain on your floors.. the draw back to this is if you have small children that are on the floor alot.. also if you have pets. they can be exposed to the chemicals.. i like the swifter jet vac. it has a cleaning cloth with no chemicals just to get the dust and dirt on the floor that the vac does not get which is very little..it can be used on tile, vinyl and wood floors.. i love it it takes no time at all to dust the floors.. also i love the bruce wood floor cleaner.. you just spray it on and use the pad that goes with it ..it drys in like 2-5 minutes..

  8. I totally agree with "Jan M"

I have only used the Swiffer Wet Jet and I used to love it when I didn’t have a cat or a baby that likes to throw food in the floor…daily. I find it only pushes the cat hair, dirt and food into the corners and it doesn’t really do the job. My floor looks as dirty when I clean it with the Swiffer Wet Jet.

I am searching for a new mop. I heard the H2O mop works well.

  9. I do not care for the swiffers at all! I did go back to my old mop and broom!
I did use the anti bacterial when I used it.
    Good Luck

  10. I never really liked the swiffer. I just use my good ole dyson ball vaccum on our hardwood and kitchen area and it does the job, then I run over it with a wet mop… it’s just as easy as the swiffer and does a better job in my book. I’ll have to try the wet jet though, sounds interesting!

  11. Baby come back…you can blame it all me….Baby come back…

Sorry I had to, this questions made me think of that silly commercial. But that is exactly what I did. I went back to my old mop and broom again. I just think it works better for my pergo floors (which I believe is what you have). The swifer left a really bad residue on my floor, almost sticky. And I feel that sweeping actually got up stuff better, but then I would go over with the swifer for dust. I think they would work great on laminate floors though.
