Oreck XL Canister Vacuum w/ big foot and Sebo power nozzle

Now I hardly see these. I sold these a long time ago and its been sitting in my basement. It’s actually a nice canister vacuum. This vacuum is very strong unlike the crappy 8lb uprights. I also have a sebo power nozzle that works with it so I showed it as well.

  1. I used to have a brochure on that and the oreck guy said he always talked people out of them because of their weight.. Were they made by oreck though?

  2. yes oreck made these there was also a matching upright with the same power nozzle. These were models that were out before the 8lb became so popular. These were made in the 80’s and earily 90’s. The hose is not the original. It came with a bulky 6ft wire reinforced hose with a big red gas pump handle.

  3. Yea I had a brochure for that upright also and the industrial machine that used the big foot PN.

  4. I love that vacuum! I have seen them in the past, and I actually prefer the older type modles. They seem to last longer!

  5. I don’t know if they used to. But Oreck no longer makes their own canister vacs. They are made in Germany I think by a different company. However, the one in the video looks totally foreign to me. Never seen it before.

  6. Yea the new ones are made in Germany using cheap plastic that fades real fast to the nasty yellow color. The one in the video was not poular at all, like I said the guy at the oreck store said he only sold a hand full.

  7. I used to have an Oreck vac like that one; it was the best Oreck product ever made. But bags & filters are hard 2 find.

  8. ive actually talked to david oreck before face to face

i was in az and saw an oreck store with him there

so i quickly went in and had a convo

i didnt ask him why he was there
    deos anyone else know?!?!
it was cool and he admited that this was one of his fav units produced

this happend like 7 years ago when i was younger

  9. Could we still purchase the replacement parts for this old oreck model vac or has it discontinued? And if so, where could we puchase it?

  10. @onevoice70 it was discontinued in the mid 90’s but parts are still available. The power nozzle is still made today.

  11. They just released a new canister called the Quest Pro, it looks interesting, but there isn’t much information available on it yet, some people have send it looks like it was outsourced project, I ask Oreck if I could review it though, and they actually might let me, hopefully I can, as I plan to start a blog and youtube “green” product review business/hobby.
