vacuums – best canister vacuum for pet hair?

I’m going crazy looking for a new vacuum. just when something sounds great, i read the negative 1 star reviews on amazon and get scared. i need a CANISTER vacuum then can really pick up LOTS OF PET HAIR w/out me having to take the roller apart after every cleaning to remove the hair. don’t want to spend more than 0. only have CARPETS. any reccomendations, appreciated, thanks!

  1. Me too, Me too.

In the meantime you can go the the "Good Housekeeping Lab site " & try and look up what they say.

I’d also try the Consumers’ Union (Consumer magazine’s site) ; they also do testing.

Then, please post here which one is best for all of us pet lovers?

  2. try using a damp sponge mop to get up the hair before you vacuum. the hair will roll up in strings on the sponge and you can just pull it off and discard. Makes vacuuming with any model way easier and faster.

  3. Until you finalize your decision on the best canister vacuum (which I can’t help you with) perhaps you can use another suggestion (which I CAN help you with!) I loved this product so much that I wrote an article about it! It has helped me keep my upholstery so much cleaner, and it is so cheap (especially if you look for coupons, too). My article is about how to use and re-use the Pledge Pet Hair Remover. I do not work for them, nor do I receive any endorsement from the makers of Pledge. I just love the product. My article will tell you how I effectively use it, and how I keep using it by cleaning it when it’s full. Around my house, that is often! I hope this helps you.
